About

Creative Legal Recruitment Ltd was founded by me. My name is Emma Claremont and I am a lawyer by trade. I qualified into the construction disputes team at a large international law firm in 2006 and I worked there until 2015, including two years on secondment in Japan.

I loved being a lawyer. However, I became increasingly aware of the number of highly qualified, talented and motivated lawyers who ended up either leaving the profession altogether or choosing to move out of the City due to a lack of flexibility in their working arrangements. This was at the same time as firms were pushing diversity and trying to increase the percentage of female partners and members of the senior management team.

In 2012 I had a child and in 2015 I too decided to leave the law. It was a decision I never wanted to make. I have set up Creative Legal Recruitment because I strongly believe that flexibility can and does work for both law firm and lawyer and I want to champion those lawyers who have huge amounts to offer the legal profession, but who also have commitments and desires outside of work.

I believe that in the not too distant future, flexibility in the legal profession will be the norm. I am here to help that to happen.
